VAYM productions

Yvonne App and Michael Zimmer are the owners of VAYM Productions. They work together with a big network of creatives in Berlin.

YVONNE APP is a TV journalist who for the last ten years has been producing reports and documentations for TV channels like ZDF, Arte and RBB. She also worked for advertising firms and companies, where she has produced event films, commercials and branded content. After studying German Literature and Latin American Studies she worked as an assistant director for audio dramas before moving into television as a director and producer.  

MICHAEL ZIMMER is working as DoP and cutter for German TV stations, publicity, music videos and NGOs. He originally studied cultural studies but in the late 90s started filming in the globalisation-critical movement. In 2020 the movie “Der Engel der Geschichte” (dir. by E. Esser) he shot as DoP won Flensburger Kurzfilmtage and many other festivals. In 2021 the movie “My Way - Helmut Lachenmann” (dir. by W. Pöpel) he shot as DoP won the Deutscher Dokumentarfilmpreis. “I love my cam!”
